THE ELECTION
Our City
Camrose is a unique city in a huge number of ways. We sit at the intersection of urban and rural life in Alberta, enjoying many of the amenities of an urban life while being surrounded by the kind of beauty and community that can only be found in rural Alberta. We have access to incredible institutions, ranging from a top-tier university with Augustana, an incredible hospital with St. Mary's, a state-of-the-art recreational facility with the Edgeworth Centre, and so many more. We have beautiful green spaces, particularly in the valley, and Mirror Lake as a crown jewel.

Camrose has its flaws, for sure. Cost of living is high, accessibility is low, and big businesses are taking over our economy while local jobs suffer. I will not pretend that it's all sunshine and roses, but I also won't pretend it's all doom and gloom. This is a beautiful city with some problems we can solve if we work together, think big, and fight to ensure that we continue to build on what makes us great while fixing the things that hold us back.

The stage is set for the Rose City's future, and with your support, I will make sure that the lives of you and the people you care about are better four years from now than they are today.
Where is Camrose?
The City of Camrose is located entirely within Camrose County in Central Alberta. It was initially built along the railway, but now is more primarily defined by its connection to the west-east Highway 13. It's roughly a one-hour drive from Edmonton, and serves as a rural hub for communities in Flagstaff and Beaver County, among others.

This election is for City Council, meaning that it's only open to residents of the City itself - Camrose County has a separate municipal-level government which will hold elections on the same day, and if you live in the County, you would vote in that election rather than this one. If you're unsure as to whether or not you live within the City or the County, please feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to help.
Where, When, and How Do I Vote?
General Information
The City of Camrose's election will be held simultaneously with all municipal elections across Alberta on October 20th, 2025. Voting will be open between 8 AM and 8 PM on Election Day, and voters can also cast their vote at Advance Voting Stations or with a special mail-in ballot, details on which are provided below.

In this election, Camrosians will be voting for one Mayor and eight Councillors, all at-large. Camrose does not use a ward system, so when you vote, you are voting to fill all nine positions. This means you will get one vote in the mayoral race and eight votes in the council race, although you are allowed to choose fewer than eight if you wish. Of the 18 Council candidates, the 8 with the most votes will be elected to Council, and of the 4 mayoral candidates, the 1 with the most votes will be elected Mayor.

To vote in this election, you must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, have resided in Alberta for 6 consecutive months immediately preceding Election Day, and your place of residence is the City of Camrose on Election Day. Camrose does have a Voter ID requirement to confirm both proof of identity and current residence; for the full list of eligible ID, please check the City of Camrose's website.
Importantly for voters, ID here is not limited to government-issued photo ID - it can include utility bills with your name and current address, a bank statement with your name and current address, or even a letter or form signed by an authorized representative from a commercial property management company, correctional institution, First Nations band or reserve, post-secondary institution, facility providing services to the homeless, or a supported living facility or treatment centre. If you have any confusion about what qualifies, contact the City and they can provide clarification.
